How it works

How do I go about seeing what's available to purchase?

Simply click on the Shares and Syndicates page on this website.

By clicking the page, you will be provided with several racehorses that you'll be able to get invloved with.  Each horse page comes with detailed information on who the horse is, its breeding, its race record, videos of a previous achievement, its share purchase price & share validity period.

I know what I want to purchase, what's next?

Once you've decided on the horse you want to get involved with, select the amount of shares you wish to purchase and click on the 'add to cart' button.

This will trigger a pop up block that will ask you to go to cart.  Click on go to cart and you'll be re-directed to the checkout section.

Here you fill in your details and follow the prompts until the order is completed.

What payment methods are available?

Currently only Bank EFT is accepted.  Once you complete the order process online.  You will have to provide us with your proof of payment via jacques@strydomracing.com within 24 hours to complete the purchase.

Jacques and his team will also contact you to confirm that you have done the bank transfer.

We are working hard on providing you with card payment options very soon & thanks for your patience.

What happens when my horse earns prize money?

When your horse earns prizemoney, the apportioned net amount will be accumulated and transfered to your bank account at the end of every Calendar quarter.

By way of example: Horse A earns a net R50,000 on the 15th of October 2025, and you own a 1% share, therefore R500 will be transferred to your bank account on or before the 31st of December 2025.

What deductions are there in Prize money

To achieve you NET Prizemoney calculation, take note of the following deductions off the gross amount published in the racecard:

Trainer 10% (Wins & Places)

Jockey 10% (Wins) 7% (Places)

Grooms 1%

---------------------

Therefore 18% -21% deductions need to be taken into consideration to achieve a NET amount of prizemoney earned.

Can I buy more than 1 share?

Yes you can.  You can buy up to 100 shares in each individual horse, provided there are shares available.

How do I prove I own a share in a horse?

We'll be sending you a confirmation email upon purchase that will hold proof of your purchase, as well as a welcome email detailing your involvement with Strydom Racing.

What does a Lease mean?

A Lease simply means that the racehorse was rented to us by the breeder for racing purposes only.  In exchange the breeder, accepts a portion of net stakes earned for the 'leasing/rent' of the racehorse.

Standard industry practice is set at 20% net stakes on wins.

2. Regional/International travel expenses related to racing in another racing jurisdiction other than the Eastern Cape.  These expenses include but are not limited to transport to and from, groom allowance, accommodation, feature race fees, etc.

Who makes the decision to move forward to pay uncovered expenses?

When any of either extraordinary vet bills or out of province racing expenses occur/are to take place, Strydom Racing will consult with all shareholders of the horse in question and go to a vote ballot.

1% share = 1 voting right.

Once votes are tallied, the majority rule will be applied & the decision will be final.

Can my horse have re-sell value?

Yes this is possible, particularly with fillies.  In some cases, fillies hold value after their racing career because of the breeding potential they may have.  This is dependent on how well they perform in their racing careers and how commercially viable their pedigrees are.

In the event of the opporunity arising, Strydom Racing will bourne the responsibility of making the decision in the best interest of all parties concerned.

If the horse is sold, what happens to the sales proceeds?

If and when the horse is sold, the net sales amount (Gross sales amount less VAT and less sales commissions of 10%) will be dispersed to all shareholders proportionate to their shareholding within 30 days of the conclusion of the sale.
