General

Who is Jacques Strydom?

Born into Racing royalty.  Jacques has trained out of the Eastern Cape more than 500 winners and over R30 Million in stakes.  

Where are the Racing Stables based?

Stables are based at fairview racecourse, Qeberha, Eastern Cape.

Can I visit my horses?

Anytime.  Please inform us 24 hours in advance and we will welcome you with open arms.

Do I have access to the racecourse?

Yes and much more.  As a shareholder in one of our horses or Racing Club, you also have access to the parade ring pre-race & winners enclosure post-race.

Can I lead in my horse?

Yes you must.  Should your horse win a race, you have to lead him/her into the winners enclosure.

Can I pick any horse I want?

If its the Racing Club, these horses are carefully pre-selected and make part of the Club package, therefore the selection of horses is done beforehand.


If it's a stand alone share option, you can pick any hore that is available for share options.

What is the Racing Club?

The Money Talks Racing Club is a Club where you as a member, may be part of something unique and big.  A Club where 3 x pre-selected horses across different class levels are chosen to the best of our abilities, for you to have fun with.  

Furthermore, we provide you with weekly updates in pictures and videos to the wellbeing of your horses, Stable Breakfasts, Racing tips and so much more!

For how long is my share valid for?

You share in a horse or in the Racing Club is valid for a 1 year.  You can then opt to renew a further year or cease to continue. No further commitment is expected from your end.

What happens when my Racing Club membership expires?

You eitehr renew, or cease your commitment in the Racing Club or share in the horse.

Can I renew my Racing Club Membership?

Yes, you can.  The renewal process is done 60 days prior to the expiry date and you will be contacted by the Strydom Racing team.

What is the difference between Shares & Racing Club?

A share provides you with the right to race a share in a particular racehorse, whereas a share in the Racing Club, allows you the right to race several horses and enjoy exlusive clube membership benefits.

If a horse gets injured during my membership, what happens?

Strydom Racing will assess the extent of the injury and decide in the best interests of the horses welfare, whether there is sufficient recovery time involved or the better iption is to retire the horse from racing.

If the horse retires, what happens afterwards?

Strydom Racing will vett potential avenues where the horse may be retired to, knowing that the horses welfare is put always as the number one priority.

Who pays for the training, vet and other fees?

All of the above mentioned fees are included in the upfront payment.  No other fees are charged during your annual membership/share fee.

What updates do I get whilst I'm a member?

A Strydom Racing shareholder or member, will form part of a dedicated Whatsapp group, allowing weekly pictures & video updates of his/her horses.  

Payments

How do I purchase the share in the horse or Racing Club?

Simply, click on the options available, select your choice and proceed to checkout for payment.

What payment methods are available?

Debit/Credit card, PayPal and Bank EFT are payment methods accepted by Strydom Racing.

What happens when my horse earns prize money?

When your horse earns prizemoney, the apportioned net amount will be transfered to your bank account within the month of earning. 

 

By way of example: Horse A earns a net R50,000 on the 15th of November 2024, and you own a 1% share, therefore R500 will be transferred to your bank account on or before the 30th of November 2024.

What deductions are there in Prize money

To achieve you NET Prizemoney calculation, take note of the following deductions off the gross amount published in the racecard:

Trainer 8%

Jockey 10%

Grooms 1%

Others 1%

Therefore 20% deductions need to be taken into consideration to achieve a NET amount of prizemoney earned.

Can I buy more than 1 share?

Of course, please read the terms of each share &/or syndicate option to understand the share model structure available.

How do I prove I own a share in a horse or Racing Club?

We will be sending you a confirmation email upon purchase that will hold proof of your pruchase, as well as a welcome email detailing your involvement with Strydom Racing.
